Hunting is allowed throughout the year and fair chase hunts are mandatory at Huntley Ferreira Safari's. This is defined as the pursuit of a free-roaming animal, or the pursuit of an animal, which is enclosed in an area large enough for it to be able to breed and forage or hunt freely. The animal should possess the natural behavioural inclination to escape from the hunter and be fully free to do so.
Trophy hunting by international clients is subject to uniform legislation throughout South Africa and all hunters are required to be accompanied by a registered Professional Hunter. |
